The Best of Both Worlds is the first collaborative album by American singer R. Kelly and American rapper Jay-Z. It was released on March 19, 2002, through Jive Records, Roc-A-Fella and The Island Def Jam Music Group. The album was produced primarily by R. Kelly and Poke and Tone, with additional production by Megahertz and Charlemagne. The album features guest appearances by Beanie Siegel, Lil' Kim, and Devin the Dude.

1942 Clinton Hart Merriam died. A biologist, he studied the effects of using birds to control agricultural pests. He also helped found the National Geographic Society, and what is now known as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
1991 U.S. Patent #5,000,000 was issued to Lonnie O. Ingram, Tyrrell Conway and Flavio Alterthum of the University of Florida. The patent was for a genetically engineered form of the E. coli bacterium that converts plant material into ethanol.
2008 In Alamosa, Colorado state health officials warned residents to stop drinking and cooking with tap water after samples had tested positive for salmonella contamination. The ban was lifted on April 11, 2008 after the city flushed its 51 miles of water lines with a heavy dose of chlorine. The salmonella outbreak linked to the city's tap water sickened nearly 400 people before being declared safe to drink on April 11, 2008.
