A man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing early Friday morning at the Los Angeles-area home of singer-songwriter, record producer and actor Tinashe, Los Angeles police said. LAPD officers arrived at the 32-year-old artist's home at about 3:30 a.m. after security camera images showed a man on the property, the LAPD told NBC4 Investigates. The man tried to open a locked door, but did not enter the home, police said.The 33-year-old suspect, identified as Kevin Casco, told police he is a SoundCloud rapper -- artists who gained notoriety in the 2010s by uploading songs to the distribution platform -- and was there to meet Tinashe, the LAPD said. Police said the man has been to the property two other times in the past few days. Casco was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor trespassing and later released on his own recognizance, jail records showed. An initial court date was scheduled for Nov. 7.

1872 The 'Mary Celeste' sailed for Genoa from New York with a cargo of 1700 barrels of alcoholic spirits. The ship was found abandoned near the Azores, the captain, his wife and daughter and 7 crewmen missing, and no sign of violence. The captain, his family and the crew were never seen again.

1885 The 2,980 mile Canadian Pacific Railway was completed. It runs from Montreal, Quebec to Port Moody, British Columbia.

1913 Alfred Russel Wallace died. Wallace was a British naturalist who developed a theory of natural selection independently of Charles Darwin. He sent his conclusions to Darwin, and their findings were both presented to the Linnaean Society in 1858.

1950 Voters in the Hawaii Territory ratified a state constitution, but it wasn't until August 21, 1959 that Hawaii officially became the 50th state of the U.S.

1965 The Pillsbury Doughboy, 'Poppin' Fresh,' was born. He made his debut in a commercial for crescent rolls.

1996 The Distilled Spirits Council of the U.S. voted to remove their voluntary ban of hard liquor ads on television and radio that had been in affect since 1936.

2006 The Nevada Clean Indoor Air Act was approved by state voters. It bans smoking in all bars and restaurants. It becomes effective on December 8.

2019 In Tottori, Japan a 2.7 pound Snow Crab sold for a record 5 million yen ($46,000) at this year's first auction of the season. The winning bidder was Tetsuji Hamashita, president of fishery wholesaler Hanashita Shoten.
